Supporting a parentfrom overseas.

“My mother needs help, and I live overseas.”

When you can’t be there in person, it helps to have someone local you can trust. With your parent’s authorisation, we can coordinate appointments and follow-ups, organise their medical records, attend appointments with them as agreed, and keep you updated wherever you are.

What families tell us

Staying informed from overseas can be difficult.

Time zones, missed calls and second-hand information can make it hard to know what’s really happening.

  • I only hear about appointments after they happen.
  • I can’t fly back every time something changes.
  • I need someone I can trust to be there.

How AAHC helps

Staying informed

Share agreed updates with the family and review support as needs change.

This is an anonymised, illustrative scenario, not a real client story. Every journey is different.

Questions

Questions about supporting your parent from overseas.

All FAQs
Does my parent need to agree?

Yes. We need your parent’s authorisation before working with you or sharing updates. We respect their choices and privacy.

How will updates work across time zones?

We’ll agree with your parent who should receive updates, how they’ll be shared and how often. Updates are provided during our working hours, based on the agreed service.

Is this 24/7 support?

No. AA Health Central isn’t an emergency or 24/7 service. We can help you plan who to contact if something urgent happens outside our working hours.
